Nathan Boucher, a student in Year 6 at Wesley College’s Glen Waverley campus, has been selected for the Victorian Primary Schools Under 12 cricket team, after also playing football for the Victorian Primary Schools 12 and Under team this year.

Nathan is not only an all rounder at cricket, but sport in general. At the age of seven he took up cricket, basketball and futsal (indoor soccer), and football the following year. But three years later, he let go of basketball to focus all his energy on his other sports.

This year, the 12 year old Glen Iris resident represented Wesley against other schools in the Associated Public School (APS) competition for Year 6 cricket, football, soccer, athletics and cross country. Outside of school, his sporting time is divided amongst various local and state teams in cricket, football and futsal.

Nathan is a true all rounder at cricket, equally skilled at batting, bowling and wicket-keeping, and he can spend up to 12 hours each week training for state, regional and club commitments. This year, he played for the Glen Iris Cricket Club, and prior to that, the Burwood Cricket Club.

Earlier this year Nathan was selected for the Victorian Primary Schools 12 and Under football team which competed in Canberra.  He plays with Ashburton “The Ashy Redbacks” football team, in the Yarra League’s Gold Division.  Nathan was voted the Best and Fairest player in the Yarra League’s Gold Division in 2011, for the third year in a row. Nathan also represented Victoria in the 12 and Under National School Futsal competition in September and was selected in the All Star team at the conclusion of the competition.
