Speech Nights 2011

This year's Speech Nights for the Glen Waverley and St Kilda Road campuses were held at the Melbourne Town Hall. These nights celebrate the school year and form part of a long tradition of farewelling the graduating class with a series of ceremonies that have changed slightly in emphasis, but little in spirit, in more than l00 years.

One of the highlights of Speech Night is the singing of The Leaving Song, traditionally sung by the Year 12 leavers and in the words of Andrew Lemon author of A great Australian school: Wesley College examined, is a song "that has endured, and one that at poignant moments across the years has brought many a cynic unstuck."
