A busy year ahead.

21 February 2011

It became very clear to me this morning that my final year at Wesley College has well and truly begun. While discussing with the other newly appointed prefects the up-and-coming events for the next couple of weeks, I realised what an exciting year I have ahead of us.

Not only does the House competition begin; kicking off with the annual "Warball Battle" at lunchtime, but Chinese New Year celebrations are also planned. The International Relations Society spent their weekend making dumplings to sell for this occasion, which will accompany the mass Tai Chi class on the Smorgon Terrace.

In addition to this, a small group of students have organised a Songwriters benefit performance to be held in the chapel next week. Various students will perform original pieces, and all proceeds will go towards disaster relief, for those hundreds of Australians affected by the recent cyclone and floods.

With all this happening in only the first three weeks back, it excites me to think of what’s to come. 2011 will no doubt be the busiest school year for us, but also the most enjoyable and satisfying. We are looking forward getting involved in as much as we can, and sharing our enthusiasm with the rest of the student body.
