Campuses

Wesley College Melbourne, Registered School No 1, is one of Australia’s finest schools, with a rich tradition on which to base its liberal, broadly based curriculum. This curriculum aims to care for the needs of and develop the talents of each member of the Wesley community, irrespective of race, religion, ability or gender.

Wesley College has three campuses in Melbourne, with a total school population of more than 3,000 students

  • Elsternwick is set around a grand old two-storeyed home and features a spacious library and excellent facilities for sciences, the creative and performing arts, physical education and sport. One of the key campus facilities is the McArthur Music Centre, where students are offered additional music opportunities to extend their abilities and interests.

The campus is fully wireless-networked, enabling all students in every class to work online. The small, family-orientated nature of the campus means that our students are part of a closely-knit community, but they also have access to the facilities and opportunities of the wider Wesley community. Trams, buses and the Elsternwick railway station, on the Sandringham line, are within easy walking distance of the Elsternwick campus.

The unique quality of the Elsternwick campus is its size. Catering for approximately 350 students from Kindergarten to Year 9, its intimate and secure setting is an appealing feature. Families enjoy the strong community element of the campus.

  • Glen Waverley has approximately 1,200 students from Kindergarten through to Year 12 and it is set on 54 hectares of open fields. Buses stop at the front gate, and the Syndal station, on the Glen Waverley line, is within walking distance. Wesley also offers daily bus services from Berwick, Balwyn/Camberwell, Doncaster and Rowville.

Each of the three sub-schools has dedicated learning spaces and specialist teaching staff. For the early years, a Junior School environment has been created in which a young child may see school as an extension of home - it is an environment purpose-built to allow young children to learn well and to play safely. The Middle School features specialist faculty centres, which are designed to ensure a smooth delivery of the extensive and innovative curriculum. The Senior School provides an excellent environment for study with an educational resource centre featuring the latest facilities, including electronic and print resources. All classrooms are fully wireless-networked, enabling all students in every class to work online.

The immediate feeling at Glen Waverley is one of a sense of space. The extensive sporting grounds provide a background for all campus activities. Multiple academic opportunities are offered to students and a broad range of subjects is available. Those in Art, Music, Drama and Sport are widely-known and many students choose the campus because of these choices.

  • St Kilda Road is situated within the City of Melbourne and only minutes from the CBD. It has approximately 1,500 students from Kindergarten through to Year 12. The campus is easily accessible by tram, bus and train-the Prahran railway station is a few minutes walk from the campus. Wesley offers a daily bus service from Essendon and the Port Melbourne and Williamstown areas.

The Junior School is located a short walk along St Kilda Road, and provides students with a safe and comfortable environment in which to establish sound learning habits and close ties with the Wesley community.

The Middle School, at the main campus, provides the perfect transition from the primary years into adolescence. Centred amongst communal meeting areas, the classrooms provide the perfect space for integrated study, teamwork, quiet contemplation or large group meetings.

The Senior School, also at the main campus, provides the resources and spaces necessary for senior students to learn and to study effectively, with laboratories, studios and classrooms as well as comfortable and functional common areas for private study or consultation with staff. All classrooms are fully wireless-networked, enabling all students in every class to work online.

An inner-city location close to the wonderful cultural, academic and historical opportunities that Melbourne has to offer, places the St Kilda Road campus in a unique position. From the impressive Kroger Front Turf to the Samuel Swimming Pool, students have access to a range of excellent sporting facilities. The quality of the dramatic and musical productions is known throughout Melbourne and the school attracts a broad range of students from artistic, dramatic and musical backgrounds. The St Kilda Road community is particularly diverse and cosmopolitan and as a result, the programs aim to be particularly inclusive.

  • In addition, the Year 9 residential program operates in Clunes, and there are three Outdoor Education camps in rural Victoria, near Paynesville, Healesville and Portland, catering for students from Years 4-10.
