The Arts at Wesley College
Wesley has long been renowned for excellence in the Arts, especially in music, theatre and the visual arts.
The Performing and Visual Arts programs are key elements of our rich educational program and we encourage students to explore their individual creative and artistic talents through participating in our extensive music, drama, dance and fine art programs.
We have found that participation not only unveils exciting talent, it also builds confidence and a wonderful sense of camaraderie, in a creative and interesting way.
Drama
Our drama programs offer students wide-ranging dramatic experiences. In the younger years the focus is on fun and enjoyment, whilst in the senior years the focus shifts to the dynamics of individual and group performance. Every student has the opportunity to participate in one or more major productions each year.
Music
We run an extensive music program from Early Childhood to Year 12, with expert practical tuition provided for a wide range of instruments. Students can participate in choirs and music ensembles and learn music theory and composition. We also offer classes that teach practical music skills like music promotion and recording.
Visual Arts
The Visual Art departments at Glen Waverley and St Kilda Road comprise one of the few multi-studio spaces in Victoria, with dedicated spaces for everything from painting and photography, to ceramics and fibre art.
