World-Class Boarding School Facilities
Learning in Residence offers students a contemporary residential environment within the grounds of Wesley’s Glen Waverley Senior School campus. Beautifully designed, the residences allow for an optimal mix of interdependence, privacy and communal space.
Different from traditional boarding dormitories, Learning in Residence comprises eight two-storey residences that each accommodate up to 16 students and one staff member. The residences are in pairs that consist of a male and female house.
The twin-share bedrooms provide students ample space for private study, sleep and socialisation. Rooms also have a well-appointed ensuite bathroom.
In addition, each house has a spacious open-plan lounge with gas fireplace where boarders can relax.
Dining as a Community
Friendships are forged over shared meals within the Learning in Residence communal dining space. Seating 240 people and overlooking the Kennedy Oval, the dining space is open for three meals a day to residential and non-residential students.
Each residence also has a kitchenette with microwave, sink, fridge and kettle.
A Social Environment
The Learning in Residence experience is as much about personal development as it is academic, with a living environment designed to encourage social connections.
The boarding houses are surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens while recreational rooms provide access to television and music for boarders as well as day students.
With free time available in the evenings and on weekends, Senior School students can make use of recreational spaces throughout the campus, including the sports centre, gymnasium, tennis courts, cricket nets, basketball and netball courts, sporting ovals and swimming pool.
The Senior School library and resource centre are also available for individual or supervised study.
A Connected Environment
Wireless internet is available throughout all College facilities, and students are provided with a secure Wesley College email account allowing for fast and easy communication.
Students are also encouraged to keep in regular contact with family and friends outside of the College via phone, email and Skype.
Students can make use of the laundry service simply by delivering their personal items twice a week. Clothes are fully laundered and returned within two working days.
Laundry facilities available include washing machines and dryers, irons, ironing boards and laundry sinks.
