Community College
The Community College at Wesley provides for the myriad of activities that occur outside normal school hours. It offers a range of programs designed to support families, encourage individual learning and provide positive outcomes for the Wesley and broader community. Programs are available year round and are offered at all campuses and also the College’s Clunes and Outdoor Education sites.
This desire to connect with the wider community can be traced back to LA Adamson’s headmastership of Wesley College (1902-1932). He participated widely in activities outside the school and recognised the importance of these community connections to the life of the College.
In the College’s Strategic Review 2004-2016, ongoing engagement with the broader local, national or international community is identified as a key element in our planning and a very important part of College life. The Community College is one way in which Wesley can engage with parents and the broader community and:
- Offers programs that support the concept of lifelong learning
- Operates College-wide and offers programs with an educational, recreational or vocational focus
- Broadens the Wesley community considerably beyond current students and their families
