Driver Clement Riggs Addis
Driver CR Addis (OW1910), of the 3rd Field Artillery Brigade, died of wounds, 21 August, received in France. He left Australia in August 1915, and spent eight months in Egypt. He then left for France, where he had several narrow escapes.
During the battle of Pozieres his horse was shot dead under him, while he was unscathed. After Pozieres, while going out of action, he was fatally wounded by a shell from a German aeroplane. In a letter received by the College in 1916, he stated that he "was very pleased to receive the Chronicle forwarded to him."
