A Truly Comprehensive Curriculum
While our curriculum certainly starts with numeracy and literacy, it expands much further to include a rich and varied choice of subjects.
Junior School (Early Learning - Year 4)
Our Junior Schools are based on small homerooms, with specialist primary years teachers who know their students well.
The Junior School includes Early Learning Programs for three and four-year-olds with a focus on the growth of the developing child. Students learn within the framework of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), complemented by Reggio Emilia principles which aim to develop their ability to think critically, appreciate difference and feel compassion.
Middle School (Years 5 - 9)
The Middle School provides opportunities for young adolescents to learn and grow in ways that respect and acknowledge this critical phase of their lives.
The focus of the Primary Years Programme continues through Years 5 and 6. This leads naturally into our unique Middle Years Curriculum (Years 7–9), which provides the perfect broad pathway to senior studies.
Academic subjects focus on fundamental knowledge, skills and understanding and also provide students with opportunities to express their ideas, and to follow the questions raised by their own intellectual curiosity.
Senior School (Years 10 - 12)
Senior School students are engaged in a diverse and varied set of learning experiences to ensure they develop to their fullest potential as knowledgeable, skilled and productive individuals.
The curriculum focuses on providing the students with the information and experiences they need, to make informed choices about their future. Often this will involve exploring different subjects and ideas, with guidance from staff and our experienced careers counsellors.
In Year 10, students study a core group of subjects that give a solid grounding in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and Physical and Health Education, in combination with a variety of elective subjects.
In Years 11 and 12, students are able to tailor their studies to more closely suit their specific interests.
